About Us
Visit Waimakariri is responsible for marketing the Waimakariri District. The Waimakariri District lies to the north of the Waimakariri River in North Canterbury, and extends from Pegasus Bay in the east, with its wide sandy beches, to Puketerakri Range in the west.
The core mission of Visit Waimakariri is to increase visitors to the Visit Waimakariri by working with the industry to coordinate and facilitate destinational marketing.
Visit Waimakariri will do this by building on the existing working relationships it has with the visitor industry, business associations, visitor organisations (Christchurch & Canterbury Marketing, Tourism Industry Association of New Zealand, and Tourism New Zealand) and the WDC, and by linking promotion activities with its economic development programme.
