The most important factor! The most desirable color and trait of the diamond is its pure clean un-tinted white lack of color! The body color of the diamond. Values range from "D" incrementally to "Z". D,E,F being colorless or as we in the diamond trade call these grades collection color.; G,H,I,J being top white; K,L,M,N being top light brown/yellow and so down to Z being brown/yellow. I state "brown/yellow" as a value of body color. This can be a little confusing. The trade talks body color in terms of yellow or "capey" when in reality some of the body color actually looks brownish with the value Z resembling strong tea or coffee. True yellow diamonds are a rarity and a very intense yellow to yellow/orange fancies are exceedingly expensive.
