Dawn Vaughan, lead designer and owner, began drafting plans for her step-father, a builder, in 1982, as well as working freelance for an architectural firm throughout college. She continued working at home while her children were young. In 1995, Vaughan's Home Design was born as word-of-mouth between builders advertised her plans as accurate, easy to build from, creative and affordable. That same year, vhdesign.com, the website for Vaughan's Home Design, was created, offering affordable custom plans. She has designed plans for clients all over the United States, and some international clients. Over the years, her stock plan portfolio has grown to several thousand plans which are affordable and easily modified. She is pleased to be able to offer her own portfolio to the public, as well as plans from top designers and architects throughout North America.
Our construction blueprints for stock plans are designed to meet nationally recognized building codes and will vary depending on the individual home. Most of our stock plans were originally designed for local builders, who've built the plans- so you can be sure they're "buildable" plans! Pre-drawn plans are available at a fraction of the cost of a custom-designed home.
Exterior Elevations- this plan shows the front (done at 1/4" = 1'-0" scale) and the rear and sides of the house (done at either 3/16" or 1/8" = 1'-0" scale, depending on size of house), including exterior materials and roof pitch.
