Our Purpose

The purpose of the Ventura County Council, chartered in 1921, is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.

Our Mission

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Our Vision

It is the vision of the Ventura County Council to be regarded by the communities we serve as the premier provider of youth character development achieving the mission of the Boy Scouts of America. We will positively impact our local neighborhoods by recruiting and equipping deeply involved chartered organizations and adult leaders at all levels who build values, skills and leadership in our youth. Through Scouting we will fully prepare leaders whose values will have a profound impact on the community.
