[v-hold] v.2.0

Description

Victor Torres was born in Queens, NY to an Italian mother and Puerto Rican father on a cold January night. His formative years were spent on the front stoop of their apartment building re-creating sitcoms assisted by his "too lazy to learn her lines" three year-old sister.

His first sample of comedy writing was completed in the third grade. The paperback book entitled "Charlie Brown is a Clown" had six illustrated pages and told of the fateful evening when Charlie Brown fell out of a tree and "broke his butt in three pieces". He believed those words were pure comedic genius. The teacher believed it was just plain crude and gave him a C+. Fortunately, she didn't report him to the Writer's Guild for copyright infringement.

His excessive talking and sarcastic wit in elementary school forced his parents to send him to the Beacon Christian Academy. One would think that such a school would break the spirit of this boy, but not so. He continued to be the class cut-up. He was the creator and senior editor of "The Beacon Journal", the high school newspaper which gave him an outlet to develop his comedic voice. His article, "Abs Like Christ in Three Days", caused the newspaper's sudden cancellation.
