Apocalypto (2006) Review Sunday, June 28th, 2009 Pop Corn Apocalypto (2006)
This is one of Mel Gibson’s best efforts as a director yet. It was crude, violent and historically interesting. The leading actor in this Rudy Youngblood stars as Jaguar Paw and he does and exceptional job in the role. It is times like this you appreciate the efforts of people and the dedication of their craft of acting. The entire film runs nice and smoothly and the story unfolds at a good pace. His wife named Seven was portrayed by actress Dalia Hernández and she expressed the difficulty of being a woman in this era of time and being pregnant as well.
It is amazing how the human race has continued all these years. After you see this movie, you will know why I’m mentioning this. A lot of things happen to Jaguar Paw, and his good friend who is played by Jonathan Brewer in the role of Blunted. There are more upcoming talented actors in this such as Morris Birdyellowhead as Flint Sky. I think this movie will find your interest and keep it throughout the story. It has a little bit of everything in it and the movie had an epic feel as well. I hope Mel Gibson continues to direct and come back in front of the screen.
