Canadian Society of Marine Artists

Description

Aims of the Society:

The Canadian Society of Marine Artists was founded in 1983 to recognize and promote marine art and artists. The Society will foster Canadian marine artists; will preserve and conserve works of art; will advocate the teaching and study of marine art, its history and its techniques, methods and values; will encourage co-operation among artists, historians, patrons and collectors, and others engaged in activities related to marine art and maritime history.

Membership:

Full membership is reserved for Canadian marine artists. Potential new members may submit a portfolio for juried review by the Society's expert panel. Applicants whose work is accepted are invited to participate in one of the Society's exhibitions, and may, at the discretion of the jury and artist membership, be given full membership privileges, including signature rights to use CSMA after her or his signature on works of art and on visiting cards, in catalogues, etc.

Founding Members will be honoured as such, and various other Honourary memberships and directorships may be discerned by the Society from time to time.
