Local 227 is an aggressive modern organization affiliated with the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) International Union. Our home is Louisville, Kentucky with offices in Lexington, Owensboro, and Madisonville, Kentucky. We represent 18,000 members in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Local 227 is the largest local union in Kentucky.

Local 227 members are a diverse group who work in a variety of industries. Members work in retail grocery stores, packing houses, food processing and manufacturing plants. Others work in the garment industry, trucking and health care where they enjoy some of the best contracts in the Midwest.
