The Rockstone Foundation Inc [RFI] is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing the urban filmmaker with the skills, resources, and opportunities necessary to pursue and succeed in a career in the motion picture industry.
RFI is the only organization of its kind that specifically addresses the unique challenges that face today's urban filmmakers. In our efforts to demystify the filmmaking process and provide access to all aspiring filmmakers, we've decided to bring the secrets of Hollywood directly to this under-represented group. The organization is managed by established filmmakers, industry executives.
Our programs include the Urban Filmmakers Workshop (UAFW), the Urban Filmmakers Conference (UFC) and Urban Filmmaker Awards scheduled for the fall of 2005 in Los Angeles, California, the "Rockstone House" and the "Young Filmmakers Bootcamp." The Rockstone House is an innovative program for people of color interested in pursuing a career in the motion picture industry. Located in Los Angeles, California, the Rockstone House will provide participants with room and board, pay them a stipend, and place them in appropriate internship positions within the industry for one year. The Young Filmmakers Bootcampis a groundbreaking four-week summer program designed to introduce and expose inner city high school students to all aspects of the motion picture industry.
