About Us
TVHound is the brainchild of developer and CEO Marc Siegel. An avid cycling fan, Marc found a hobby in watching all programs about his hero, seven time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong. However, on one dark day, the inspirational bicyclist appeared on Oprah, unbeknownst to this superfan. Upon realizing he had just missed an in-depth interview with his favorite figure, Marc mulled over the lost opportunity and decided to do something about it.
It’s no surprise that TVHound’s owner is no stranger to the computer industry, given his love of both television and technology. “TVHound is just me and a programmer that I hired…I’ve been in the computer industry since 1985,” confesses Marc. “I worked mostly in software development. “I live with my wife and 2 children, and I wanted to create this new and unique Internet service, to help me find only the shows I'm interested in. I wished that there was a service that would let me know whenever my favorite subjects were going to be on TV.”
Thus the idea was born. TVHound.com went into development in April of 2005. Within three months the site was finished, and went live in August of 2005.
