Description
Dr. Carey, originally from Texas, graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1983. He studied medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, and received his doctorate of medicine in 1987. He continued his training in Emergency Medicine with Orlando Regional Medical Center in Florida.
Shortly after completing his specialty training, Dr. Carey accepted a position as an attending Emergency Physician with Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He also served as a professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School teaching resident physicians in the Emergency Department.
After practicing Emergency Medicine in Texas for seven years, Dr. Carey and his family moved to Tryon in search of a more wholesome lifestyle. Dr. Carey has since been serving in administrative and staff positions in the emergency departments of Spartanburg Regional and Pardee Hospitals.
