Shorinji Kempo of Toronto
Description
John has been studying ShorinjiKempo since 1982. His teachers are Mizuno-sensei (8th Dan) of the British Federation and Hiate-sensei (Seihanshi, 7th Dan) of the Kanagawa Prefecture Federation. John has travelled to Japan to train seven times (including training at ShorinjiKempo Hombu) and has been teaching in Toronto since 1994. He also holds Toronto EMS First Aid and CPR certification.
Parking is available in the CAMH underground garage which is accessible from Spadina just north of College ($3.00 flat rate) and in the Huron St. underground garage ($5.00 flat rate) which is located between Russell and College (east side). Metered street parking is also available on Spadina ($1.50 per hour).
A period of the class which includes recitation of Seiku, Seigan and Shinjo (verses containing core ideas of ShorinjiKempo philosophy) and zazen meditation.
