The enterprise of TOOBS began in the true entrepreneurial sense; two surfers who wanted to be in the "surf" business. TOOBS is often perceived as a larger company than it is, when in reality we are a small closely knit group. Almost every employee is actively involved in the surfing lifestyle experience and most of them are very accomplished surfers in their own right.
TOOBS was founded in March of 1988.....17 years ago this spring! In that time we have had some hard lessons to learn but we have held fast to our basic philosophy of delivering Quality and Performance through skilled Craftsmanship. TOOBS maintains this philosophy in all aspects of its operations. Our customer service is unrivaled, and for a good reason, we are just like our customers! We are surfers, not much different from the ones who use our products. We are not high powered corporate businessmen on a mission to make mega profit. Of course we want to be a profitable business, but not at the expense of our surfing soul. We believe that Quality of life is more important than Quantity of life.
TOOBS has always been an innovator. We are the originators of the tubular stringer in all its iterations, regardless of what the competition says! We will continue to develop applications of new materials and new designs, but only when they have been fully proven through rigorous testing. We refuse to play the "flavor of the week" game. Hype and sizzle mean nothing compared to the objective qualities of the product itself. We will continue to focus on those qualities.
