Independent studies conducted at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University concluded, "Thus, condensed fish extract(sic) has been found a most effective and practical fertilizer for crop plants in the fields, greenhouses, gardens, and homes. The general growth, appearance, and quality of plants so fertilized were excellent compared with those raised with comparable rates of inorganic nutrients or commercial grade fertilizer."
