- Though now internationally synonymous with beauty and prestige, Lladró can be traced back to humble beginnings. The story begins in Almássera, a small town outside of Valencia on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. In 1953, three brothers had just left their jobs at the local tile production factory. The brothers, Juan, José, and Vicente Lladró, then built a small Moorish kiln in their courtyard and set to work bringing the complex tradition of porcelain alive.
