Torrefazione Italia blends were initially developed to be prepared as espresso. The reason behind this is that most of the coffee in Italy is served this way; you would be hard pressed to find American-style drip coffee. Fortunately, all eight of our blends taste great no matter how they are prepared. Torrefazione Italia coffees are smooth and well-balanced while still offering a variety of character.
In Italy, roast and style preferences differ as you travel from North to South. The lighter roasts are popular in the rugged, mountainous North, while Italians in the warmer, drier South prefer darker blends. Each of the eight blends have been carefully crafted to reflect the varied tastes of the people throughout Italy. Each blend is named after an Italian city, with the roast becoming darker as the city names move from North to South.
