Helping Churches Transform Lives, Empower People and Grow
Janet and Robert were part of the ministerial staff of a rapidly growing church. We repeatedly heard that changed lives was the dominant reason new people became active members. Next, we traveled for three years helping congregations across the country enhance their prayer lives. We observed many differences between growing and declining churches.
Between 1998 and 2006 we surveyed over 140 congregations including: Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Episcopalian, Methodist, Presbyterian, Independent Community, and New Thought (Unity, etc.) churches.
Worship attendance in these surveyed churches ranged from 50 to 1500. We learned much from these congregations about the characteristics of growing churches and incorporated these findings into our Church Life Survey.
