APPRAISAL SERVICE

Thorn Books offers experienced appraisal service for IRS qualified, donation, insurance, estate, preparation for sale and other purposes. We appraise single books, collections and libraries.

Our fees are based on time spent on the appraisal: inspection, research, valuation, write-up. Travel time is billed at a reduced rate. Advance estimates are provided so you can determine if an appraisal is cost-effective. If we think the type of appraisal you desire for the materials that you have does not justify the costs, we will tell you and tell you why, and suggest and discuss alternatives.

If you are considering an appraisal of a single item or a collection, give us a call early. There is no charge for the initial consultation and we may be able to assist in the decision process.
