Flying K Thorodales is a family-owned and -operated breeding farm, located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, just minutes off of I-81. Our breeding program was founded on the proven production of Evermore's Hank. a registered Scottish Clydesdale. Bred to carefully selected Thoroughbred mares, Hank produced a 50/50 cross with the size, strength, refinement and agility to be a performance horse. His successor, Challenger of Pinnacle, adds the distinguished bloodlines of Maplewood Levi and the Pinnacle Clydesdales breeding program to our herd. Thorodales® have proven themselves as jumpers, hunters, eventers and dressage horses.
Ours is a production farm, rather than a training farm. The majority of the horses leave us before they begin training, and our prices reflect that. Our goal is to produce a horse with the potential to train for whatever discipline the owner wishes, at a price that allows the buyer to invest in training the horse exactly the way he or she wants! Our horses are started using resistance-free training methods like those of John Lyons, Monty Roberts, and others. To learn more about these techniques, please visit John Lyons' Web Page. Our sales policy reflects our committment to our customers and our horses. Every horse we sell is sold "on trial" for thirty days. If, within that time, the buyer changes his mind about the horse he has selected, for any reason , the horse may be returned to Flying K Thorodales® for a full refund of the purchase price.
