Trained in the style of Desikachar, Jennifer Durand has been teaching yoga to adults and children for over ten years. She is a pioneer in the field of children’s yoga, and is the creator of The Yoga Garden™ Game.
A childhood spent in Mendocino County brought Jennifer close to nature and allowed her at an early age to discover how the human body can naturally mimic all we find in the natural world. Her first yoga classes were taught in a park beneath Redwood trees.
She began dancing at an early age to correct severe in-toeing and a hip deformity. From ballet she moved into modern dance (Laurel Near, Tandy Beal), Afro-Haitian (Blanche Brown) and eventually found her way to yoga (TKV Desikachar, Judith Lasater, Dawn Summers, Geoffrey Gordon).
