- Architect, Peter King RIBA founded The Metal Window Company in 1993. Practicing in London four years earlier, he had observed a large number of Victorian cast iron rooflights slowly disintegrating with no suitable substitute. Modern roof windows were completely unsuitable for the properties in many of the historically significant areas of the city. Single-glazed cast iron replacements were unable to offer the level of specification required today. He therefore set about designing a product that would look like the original Victorian skylights, but would provide the highest specification available.
