T he Quilted Crow was launched as "The Quilted Garden", an online shop in July of 1999 - starting out with 50 items in inventory.
Wendy Daugherty started the business out of her love for quilting, but in 2001, with 5 active sons and a very successful growing business, Wendy decided to sell and focus her time on her family. So in April of 2001, I re-opened the "Garden."
In November of 2002, we took a "big step" and opened up a "brick and mortar" shop in Boxborough, MA. It wasn't something I planned on, but a wonderful opportunity came up in a perfect building adjacent to a tea shop . . . what could go better than "tea and quilts"? To mark this new venture and better reflect our love of folk art, we decided to change our name to "The Quilted Crow."
