- The Lifeguard Registry (TLR) was founded towards the end of summer 2008 when lifeguards Timothy Pandajis and Peter Greco were working together at a Connecticut resort facility. In conversation, the two began to speculate as to just why it is so difficult for lifeguards to find jobs and for employers to find lifeguards. The two realized quickly that the reason employers struggled so much to find lifeguards to work for them was not due to a shortage of lifeguards. In fact, they figured that it was quite the opposite. Instead, they realized, the problem was due to a barrier in communication between the two parties. There was no set way for employers to locate lifeguards, or for lifeguards to find employers. They decided to develop a website that would allow the two parties to communicate. The Lifeguard Registry is just that.
