The Guitar Custom Shop is located in Moscow, Russia.

It was founded in 1998, and since then, the shop has built more than 1,000 custom made guitars and basses.

In 2004, they began exporting world-wide, and since then have created more than 200 exquisite 100% hand-made Custom Shop instruments for clients in 29 countries. The "GUITAR WORLD" link has an interactive map showing their instruments around the world.

There are several public forums at the site, for discussing your dream guitar project in English, German, and Scandinavian languages, and it also contains galleries with many photographs of Custom Shop instruments (completed as well as works-in-progress!)

The web site also features an interactive ONLINE CUSTOM QUOTE MAKER, so you can design your own Custom Shop creation...

Additional Information

The Guitar Custom Shop is now featuring an ongoing GUITAR DESIGN CONTEST (Musical Instrument Design contest) called DESIGN CHALLENGE 2010. The contest is free to enter, and is open to all musicians and graphic designers...

From the website:

The Guitar Custom Shop DESIGN CHALLENGE 2010

1 ) The contest officially gets underway on FEBRUARY 14th.

2 ) A prize will be awarded EVERY SEVEN WEEKS!

3 ) Each week, you can post your design submissions (sketch and spec list, plus your comments)... and the following week, we'll have a PUBLIC VOTE on all designs submitted during the previous week. The winner of that weekly vote becomes a FINALIST!

4 ) After five rounds of voting, all five of the finalists will be collected together for a DESIGN CHALLENGE. During week 7, we'll have a new PUBLIC VOTE on the winning designs of the previous six weeks. The design with the most votes WINS THE PRIZE for that seven-week period.

5 ) The winner of each DESIGN CHALLENGE PRIZE wins:

A) The Glory!! and B) The opportunity to have their prize-winning dream guitar design built AT A 40% DISCOUNT.

6 ) A given design can win only once, but if you did not win the first challenge, you can still re-submit the same design in the next DESIGN CHALLENGE (There will be seven... one every seven weeks for the next year!)

7 ) Bonus entries: All orders that were confirmed between January 1st and February 14th 2009 will also be eligible for entry in the 2010 DESIGN CHALLENGE. So if later in the year you decide to enter the design of your instrument, and it ends up winning its DESIGN CHALLENGE, then the prize will be applied retroactively to your closing balance. (Or as a cash rebate, if the order was already completed and paid in full)

8 ) At the end of the year, every DESIGN CHALLENGE winner who has ordered their prize-winning dream guitar will be automatically eligible for the GRAND PRIZE. We'll put them all up to a FINAL VOTE - for DREAM GUITAR OF THE YEAR.

9 ) The winner of the DREAM GUITAR OF THE YEAR GRAND PRIZE wins:

A) The Glory!! and B) Their dream guitar design built FOR FREE. (The grand-prize-winning-design will receive a full cash rebate...)

10) Design Challenge Entries may be an electric guitar (with 6,7, or 8 strings), electric bass(with 4,5, or 6 strings), or electric baritone guitar (with 6,7, or 8 strings) of any form. Original custom body and headstock designs are preferred, but not strictly required (If your own "dream guitar" design deftly mixes elements of existing instruments, it is still a perfectly valid entry).

To "level the playing field" for those who may not be so competent at sketching, design challenge entries may not contain any decorative graphic artwork or custom fretboard inlays.

What we are looking for in this contest is a "pure" instrument design - it should be comprised of only the body, neck, headstock, hardware and electronics! (The woodwork of your design may be beveled or sculpted, but it should not include 'purely decorative' carving elements...)
