Several years ago I created and bought the domain 'theBywaters.com' to claim my place on the web. I thought it would be more practical than buying a square foot of land on the moon - I did have limited financial resources after all, so it was either one or the other. In some respects having a domain leaves a permanent mark in the world for all to see - as long as you continue to pay for it! For some years however I only bothered to have a single webpage begging for a job.
