Since 1979, The Allen Group (TAG) has remained a free-standing provider of comprehensive employee assistance programs, serving employees and their families throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Pacific Trust Territories, Canada, Europe and South America. TAG is privately owned, and is not the subsidiary of, nor an agent for, any insurance company or treatment provider. Its services are pre-paid by the employer and offered as a benefit to employees and their families.
Prior to the creation of TAG, company founder, J.D. Allen, Ed.D., was the Director of Human Resources Planning at a large Florida Public Utility. As part of his responsibilities he designed and implemented an employee assistance program (EAP) for the 6000+ employee population, directing a full-time EAP counseling staff. After leaving, Dr. Allen and Mrs. Linda Allen, BS, BA began delivering "external" EAP services to that same Public Utility as well as to General Electric, Martin Marietta and others.
Mrs. Linda Allen is currently the President and Majority owner of TAG and Dr. Allen is the Chairman of TAG's Board of Directors.
