Description
Team Singapore is a concept mooted by the Ministry of Community Development and Sports and launched by DPM Dr Tony Tan on 20 April 2001. It is an approach that will be taken to make sports a winner in Singapore. While Sporting Singapore is the vision, Team Singapore is the way to get there.
Team Singapore is about Singaporeans striving together for sporting excellence for Singapore. At the core of Team Singapore is the notion that by working together, the whole can be much greater than the sum of its parts.
Team Singapore is a collaborative effort of all stakeholders/agencies represented by five key groups: sporting bodies including officials and coaches; athletes; families, friends and public; corporations; and the media.
