- My husband and I live on a small farm in Central Oregon with our youngest son. In addition to children (we have four boys, ages 13 to 31), we raise horses, lavender, and dogs. I'm a Chautuaqua Scholar for the Oregon Council for the Humanities and travel around the state, giving presentations on Mexican celebrations, folklore and folk art. For several years, I lived part-time in Oaxaca, Mexico and still love to visit Mexico and practice my Spanish. I've been a student of Tibetan Buddhism since 1981 and like to attend meditation retreats two or three times a year, in addition to my daily practice.
