Sunburst Stained Glass has developed a reputation for unique, high quality work in stained glass, beveled glass, and etched glass since 1977. The studio is housed in a 1924 Model T Ford dealership building located in historic downtown Newburgh, Indiana -- just east of Evansville, Indiana, overlooking the beautiful Ohio River.
Sue Morrison is a founder of Sunburst Stained Glass and works as its major designer. Her task is to discover what belongs in the window you see in your imagination and translate your thoughts to designs in glass. Paula Faries is also a designer and painter whose work you can see on the Churches page. Paula does extraordinary images with great warmth and beauty. Harry Thompson is our lamp repair genius and installation expert. He loves restoring lamps to their original condition and luminosity. Patty Beeson manages the Custom Studio and makes sure that the work is what the designer and customer intended. Lynna Tooley is the Restoration Crew chief and maintains the honor and respect that ancient and damaged glass deserves.
Sunburst custom designs and builds windows for homes, businesses, and churches. Talk with us for ideas when you want to enhance your surroundings. We can supply you with installation suggestions or will do the work ourselves when appropriate. Usually you can install stained glass without removing your present windows. Many times windows are installed to the interior side of existing clear glass to preserve the thermal advantage of insulated glass or to cover leaking insulated units. In other cases we have removed existing windows completely and installed new frames that hold both the stained glass and a protective covering, often insulated glass.
