Bazaar International was established in 1985 with the initial goal of exporting Nepalese handicrafts and importing foreign goods. Since 1990, it started focusing solely on the import and distribution of international publications in Nepal and the export of Nepalese publications abroad.
Bazaar International is one of the general members of DISTRIPRESS, a nonprofit organization based in Zurich-Switzerland. Publishers, distributors and freight forwarders from 97 countries and territories that number 470 countries make up the international organization. Bazaar is geared towards promoting export and import of books, magazines, journals, newspapers and newsletters. The firm is also a member of Nepal Book Sellers and Publishers Association.
Bazaar International imports over a hundred consumer magazines, represents medical, technical and professional journals as their subscription agent and distributes academic and text books. Now, it commands a market share of 75% of imported magazines in Nepal and 25% of the imported book market. It has an extensive network of magazine distribution.
