- On October 25th, 1933 several commercial livestock operators organized the California Livestock Production Credit Association (“Cal Livestock”) in San Francisco. Cal Livestock’s business was primarily livestock lending throughout the State of California. In 1963 Cal Livestock moved from San Francisco to Sacramento and in 1981, to Elk Grove. In 1989 Cal Livestock began the process to become a full service FDIC insured commercial bank called Stockmans Bank of Commerce. After a successful stock offering, on March 12, 1991, Stockmans Bank of Commerce was opened with total capital of $4.3 million. In 1997, the Bank’s name was changed to Stockmans Bank and in 1999; Stockmans Bank was organized as an S Corporation.
