- STLislam was formed to create a "World Wide Web" presence for St. Louis metropolitan region Islamic organizations. Many local organizations (including Masajids) have considered developing a website. The expenses involved and the technical expertise required have prevented the majority from following through. In addition, the web traffic generated by a single local organization's website may not justify the trouble and expense of developing and maintaining a feature-rich, comprehensively designed website. Considering these issues, STLislam was formed to address the local community's need for a frequently updated, low-cost, multi-organizational but united presence on the Internet.
