- Are you tired of a legislature that shifts taxes shifted from corporations to workers? One that insists you're not bright enough to decide how your taxes are spent? One that had allowed Idaho's infrastructure to decay? My name is Harold Stiles. I'm an Idaho native, an Army veteran, and a civil engineer. Civil engineers solve problems. We know how to bring water to your tap, to keep runoff from becoming floods, and we know how to build roads and highways?and mass transit systems. My opponent wants to delay the light rail project and pave more. Los Angeles has proven that paving does not solve traffic problems. I've heard voters from Caldwell to Boise urging that we learn from Portland and Salt Lake City and look to light rail projects. I'm listening. I've heard Caldwell parents complain when their elementary schools cancel recess and their middle schools close libraries for school-wide testing. I'm listening. And I've heard terrible stories of people driven to bankruptcy by medical bills, only to have the disease reemerge. I'm listening. I want to hear your concerns and put my problem-solving skills to work for the people of District 10 and the State of Idaho. And I believe if we had balance in the legislature, if we had a true two-party system, if we had competition instead of monopoly, all your legislators would be listening instead of lecturing.
