Steve's Airshow World
Description
Steve's Airshow World was established in August 1999 and began as a site reviewing the two shows I attended that year - the Miramar Airshow and the Air Victory Museum's Air Fair. With the introduction of a TV capture card to my computer, I have been able to introduce snaps from those two shows, as well as introducing the snaps from three shows I attended in early 2000 - Andrews AFB, McGuire AFB, and NAS/JRB Willow Grove.
Tragedy, somehow, made Steve's Airshow World popular. It sounds horrible, but it's true. The crash of an F-14 Tomcat at Willow Grove's airshow in 2000 made the Willow Grove review the most read review ever. The snaps from those three airshows proved to be very popular, yet the most popular snap page ever for Steve's Airshow World belongs to that of the F-14 Tomcat's final maneuver. At the time of the crash, I had another website going - this one devoted to game shows and appropriately dubbed The Airport of Game Shows. More on that later. The summer of 2000 also brought on the most popular section of Steve's Airshow World - the videos.
Not too many airshow (or aviation sites for that matter) have videos of aircraft in action. The videos were an instant hit, and continue to be to this day. The debut of the 2001 Airshow Schedules and Demo Team Schedules were an immediate hit as well, and continued to be well into 2001. On April 1, 2001, I moved the original "Steve's Airshow World" to the location where it is right now, eliminating many other websites I have maintained on this address - a Flight Simulator Page, an Audio Files Page, and an Aviation Page. That same day saw the elimination of The Airport of Game Shows. That site was eliminated because of my lack of interest in keeping two very successful websites running and the fact that I admitted that Who Wants to Be a Millionaire wasn't really my kind of show anymore (I said that back in December of 2000).
