Statoo Consulting was founded in 2001 by Dr. ès sc. Diego Kuonen (CEO, applied statistician and data miner of Statoo Consulting).
Dr. Diego Kuonen graduated in 1998 from the `Institute of Mathematics' (former `Department of Mathematics') at the `Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne' (EPFL) in Switzerland with a Master's degree in Mathematics (`MSc in Mathematics'). In 2001 he received, under the supervision of Professor A. C. Davison, the degree of `Doctor in Science EPF' - the highest degree delivered at the EPFL. Both degrees were obtained for outstanding works in applied statistics, mainly in the interface of statistics and computer science. In the statistical and computer science world, he lives and works on the cutting edge. He has several years of experience in statistical consulting, computing and data mining, resulting in fruitful collaborations and published articles in several peer-reviewed journals. In addition, he also has several years of experience in teaching and training. He is lecturing for several postgraduate courses offered at the EPFL, at the `Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich' (ETHZ) and at the Universites of Geneva and Neuchatel, Switzerland. Besides working for Statoo Consulting, Dr. Diego Kuonen is also lecturer in applied statistics at the EPFL. His professional memberships include:
