Description
My husband and I first fell in love with a Westie named Bonnie. She was a dog that had many problems with her skin and had been given to my sister as a pet. She was a sweet dog and quickly won the heart of everyone that she met. I decided that was the kind of dog I wanted to breed. We got our first Westie in 1990 and that was the beginning of our adventure in the breed. We met many friends in the Westie world and were fortunate enough to have been mentored by many of them. The late Gary Gabriel was instrumental in helping us get started in breeding. One of his dogs is the foundation of my kennel, I have several descendants of that dog in my breeding program today. Sandy Davis of Lanarkstone Kennels was a wonderful mentor in proper grooming and I am forever grateful for her help. Sandy was also very helpful in guiding us in our first attempts at exhibiting our dogs. We have been showing our dogs since 1997 and have finished several champions in both Canada and the US.
Our Westies live with us in our 1-acre facility in the rolling meadows of Rochester, in southwest Washington state. All of our dogs and puppies are home-raised and socialized to adults, kids, and the outside world. We will only place our puppies in homes that share our same philosophy and devotion to these incredibly beautiful, kind and charming companions. I am a member and past president of the West Highland White Terrier Club of Puget Sound. I also belong to the Nisqually Kennel Club and the West Highland White Terrier Club of America as well as the West Highland White Terrier Club of England.
