Title

St. Peter's School, Kettering, Northamptonshire :: Welcome!

Description

St. Peter's was founded in 1946 as a Preparatory School, its first Headmistress being Miss Joyce Rutherford. Alan Timpson was one of the Founders of the school and the main building, Sunnylands, was originally the Timpson family home. The house was built in 1893 to the design of JA Gotch and is now a Grade 2 listed building. Alan Timpson also endowed the Sunnylands Trust which supports the school in many ways, not least in the provision of Bursaries.

The Infant block was added in 1949 and the Nursery has taken pre-school children since 1968. The new Infant building was completed in 1990, to the design of the architects Gotch, Saunders and Surridge.

School rules are kept to a minimum and are based on common sense and consideration for others. Uniform is compulsory for all children other than those in the Nursery. A uniform list is supplied upon registration. The Head reserves the right to suspend, or require the removal of a pupil whose behaviour leads to the conclusion that the child is an unsuitable member of the school community. Such cases are extremely rare at St. Peter's School
