- The Springwater Preservation Committee (SPC) was initially organized in the winter of 2005 for the purpose of stopping the development of a proposed industrial wind turbine project known as the Bishop Wind Farm. The project was to consist of 14 wind turbines of 1.65 megawatts each, 400 feet high, located on a ridge line in East Springwater, parallel to and just west of Tabors Corners Road. The proposed developer was a company known as PPM Atlantic.
