- David H. Annis, Ph.D. is founder and principal of SportsQuant. He is also Vice President, Forecasting and Pricing at Wachovia. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor in the Operations Research Department at the Naval Postgraduate School. A graduate mechanical engineer, he worked as a designer for an international flight propulsion company before returning to academia to earn his doctorate in mathematical statistics. In addition to his work in sports modeling, Dr. Annis's eclectic interests have resulted in published research papers in experimental design, antimicrobial testing, materials science (fatigue and non-destructive evaluation) and pedagogy
