Earth Liberation Prisoners Support Network
Description
The Earth Liberation Prisoners Support Network is an international network of groups that support people who take action in defense of the Earth and its inhabitants. Many people fit this criteria including Earth and animal liberationists (whether or not they use the name "ALF" or "ELF"), people fighting developments in their community or anti-nuclear campaigns, peace activists, indigenous people, prisoners from the MOVE family and anti-fascists. Our support is not based on whether people fit a strict ideological checklist but is granted on a case by case basis. We neither impose ideological or lifestyle limits on our support either although we do not support people that give information to the authorities or snitch on their allies or codefendants.
We are a prison support network and not the individuals or groups taking the actions that we support. Although our acronym "ELP" resembles the name of the international direct action movement, "ELF", we have no connection to this movement other than our support for many of the actions people have taken using that acronym. So, please save your inquiries and email threats for others
We welcome feedback and critique on our website as well as our support work. We will not communicate with the corporate media in any way, shape or form. Since we cannot communicate with the prisoners directly in most cases, we can not effectively communicate their message to an already biased media. If people want to interview prisoners on this website, the first step is contacting the prisons and seeing what their regulations are. At that point, contact the prisoner and see if they want to speak to you. We do not facilitate this process. Inquiries from alternative, independent and movement media magazines or individuals are encouraged and will be answered promptly.
