Fish Sciences was established in 1987 to provide innovative solutions to problems with fish populations and aquatic ecology. We specialize in studying fish populations, their relationships with habitat and environmental features, and their changes in response to fish management actions (harvest, hatcheries, and passage). We have sampled fish, analyzed data, and solved issues with salmon and trout populations from California to Alaska. We frequently do population assessments and simulation modeling; fish habitat and flow assessments; Endangered Species Act (ESA) status reviews and permitting; recovery planning; impact studies; and fish monitoring and research studies. In addition to salmonids, we have strong expertise in sturgeons, pikeminnow, and burbot, and we have studied other freshwater and estuarine fishes.
Our teams of highly reputed scientists are often contracted by local, state, and federal agencies; energy and water utilities; Indian tribes; and a range of other interest groups.
