Southgate Coins and Collectibles is located in scenic and historic Reno, Nevada. The retail store is an extension of The Las Vegas Rare Coin Gallery in Southern Nevada. The Las Vegas store closed its doors of operation at the location it had occupied for 30 years, when the landlord of the shopping center demolished the buildings.
The new store opened in Reno as Southgate Coins in September of 2001 (shortly after 9/11). The owners, Marie and Rusty Goe, used the experience they gained through many years in the rare coin business to equip and furnish the new store with as many of the coin collector amenities as possible. Visitors are impressed when they enter the shop, how attractively it is furnished.
There are display cases full of interesting U.S. coins and paper money. The walls are covered with nostalgic pictures and other wall hangings. Many of the most popular reference books are easily within sight. If there's a numismatic item or information you've been searching for, the odds are in your favor that you'll find it here.
