About Slaw

Slaw is a co-operative weblog about Canadian legal research and the impact of technology on it. We hope that our audience will include practicing lawyers, legal librarians, legal academics and students — anyone, in short, who uses IT in researching the law. The aim is to share information, offer advice and instruction, and occasionally provoke.

Slaw operates with a core of regular contributors and a penumbra of occasional contributors. It is open to anyone who is knowlegeable and interested to apply to join Slaw in either of these capacities. Because information technology dissolves boundaries, you don't have to be a Canadian to join and talk abut IT and legal research. But because there are already good research weblogs dealing with these matters in other countries, we invite posts that either are of special interest to Canadians or are general enough to pertain to doing research in Canada.

Finally, there's something quintessentially Canadian about a salad metaphor… Besides: "It's Slaw." That's why.
