With local ownership our club supports the local soccer community, players and fans alike – and we are committed to permanently bring soccer’s most valuable tradition to San Jose:
Soccer is a game to be played by players and the SAN JOSE FROGS F.C. puts the players center-stage. With Franco Benevento – a native of Italy who played professionally for the New York Cosmos in the early 1970s – we have a head coach who lives the game and provides our players with an opportunity to develop their game from High School and College Soccer towards higher leagues here in America and maybe as far away as Europe.
One key attraction of soccer aside of the simplicity of the rules – except maybe “offside” – is the expression of cultural characters. Therefore different countries and continents have their specific ways to play the game – just think of Brazil, Argentina, England, Italy, Germany, Japan, Ghana, Mexico or the U.S. National Team... Here in San Jose, we have local players from all over the world and actually can combine all “global soccer flavors” in terms of team strategy, creativity, inspiration, discipline and leadership.
