Description

Yes, I'm a geek. It's kind of hard to deny; I've been programming computers since 1977 or 1978, I don't recall which. I enjoy going to the local university's library and browsing through microfilmed archives of centuries-old books. I read science fiction; in fact, I've gone to SF conventions, and even dressed up in silly costumes. I used OS/2 Warp 3 instead of Windows 95, and Warp 4 instead of Windows 98. You can go ahead and make fun of me. I do.

I have many hobbies. Way too many. Chiefest among them is music; primarily, I think of myself as a singer, but I also play lute, guitar, recorder, and various keyboard instruments. I particularly love the music of the Renaissance, which to my mind has yet to be matched for beauty or texture. I am currently working on recording selections from Thomas D'Urfey's Wit and Mirth, or Pills to purge Melancholy. So far, I don't have many finished, but they're available here.

I don't think I have any normal pictures of myself; I hate being photographed. The drawing up at the top right of this page is a face I make frequently when a camera is pointed at me. My father could probably fill several albums just with pictures of me making that face. He hates that.
