Mark: I’m originally from Massapequa, New York, which is about 35 miles east of New York City. When I was growing up there, it wasn’t as crowded as it is now, and it was a really nice place grow up in. We were exposed to a lot of different people from all over the world, which I feel was a great thing. I got married at the age of 30 and about 3 years after that my wife and I started looking around for a less hectic place to live, sort of out of the way in the country. We had some friends who moved to Shenandoah County, and during one of our visits we just fell in love with the area. I went back and sold my Cleaning Business in a month or so and we moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 1987.
The Internet to me has always represented a large doorway of opportunity. There seemed to be so much information out there, and suddenly, it was made available right at your fingertips. The problem was that it was so vast and fragmented. I wanted to come up with a way to take some of this information and bring it all together to help the people here in the Shenandoah Valley.
