The Sharpham Park Ethos

The practices of Sharpham Park are all based around a uniting ethos of environmentally responsible farming methods. Their fields are fertilised by crop rotation so that they don't have to rely on artificial fertilisers and their organic farming methods entitled them to the GB organic certification 5 by the soil association.

Sharpham Park exists as the modern approach to a traditional deer park and they breed livestock like White Park cattle, Red deer and Hebridean and Manx Loghtan sheep. This creates a natural ecosystem that benefits the growth and development of the farm. This responsible approach to farming methods, in combination with the correct management and operation of the farm itself has allowed Sharpham Park to become a supplier of Spelt grain all over the country.

Spelt Products

Sharpham Park offers a great array of different spelt products ranging from those that are ready to eat, or very simple meals like speltotto, to organic spelt flour for those cooks who love to create delicious dishes from scratch.

For reference, 'Speltotto' is a form of risotto made with spelt, popularised and coined by the famous Chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall

The Benefits of Spelt

Spelt grain is a remarkable alternative to the traditional wheat grain that is most common; this is particularly true to those who suffer with a wheat or gluten intolerance.
