- Settler’s Mountain is owned and operated by the Kraft family. Bert and Millie Kraft wanted a vacation home where they could take the family and get away from the hustle, bustle, heat and humidity of South Florida. They refurbished and re-built the existing home that is now known as The Homestead. They then restored the Log Cabin which is over 100 years old, adding all the modern conveniences and a home for the grandparents, naming it Sunset Hill, because of the beautiful view of the setting sun from this spot. From there, they continued to build more cabins so other people could also enjoy the beautiful area they have named "Settler's Mountain"
