Title

Daniel Frank Sedwick, LLC Professional numismatists specializing in the colonial coinage of Spanish America, shipwreck coins and artifacts of all nations.

- Daniel Frank Sedwick is a full-time dealer specializing in the colonial coinage of Spanish America as well as shipwreck coins and artifacts of all nations. In addition to publishing several online and auction catalogs per year, Dan is a regular vendor at major international coin shows, including FUN, CICF, and ANA. Until early 1996, Dan worked in partnership with the late Dr. Frank Sedwick, who began the business in 1981 and became known as a pioneer in the field of Spanish colonial numismatics with his book The Practical Book of Cobs. The fourth (2007) and third (1995) editions of this well-known book were authored and co-authored by Dan, who is also a contributing editor to The Numismatist (the monthly magazine of the American Numismatic Association) and the author of several articles. Dan is a member of the American Numismatic Association and Florida United Numismatists, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree (cum laude) from Duke University.

- Agustín García-Barneche, better known as "Augi," is also a full-time dealer specializing in Spanish colonial coinage and has been an invaluable addition to the company since July of 2008. Augi manages the website and handles photography, advertising, research and coin and artifact conservation. Augi has been working with shipwreck material since 2001, and in 2007 he published the book The Macuquina Code to assist fellow researchers with "treasure" terms that appear in Spanish. Augi's next work (soon to be published) is about the silver "tumbaga" bars of ca. 1528. A native of Argentina, Augi speaks and writes fluent Spanish and English. He is also a member of the American Numismatic Association and Florida United Numismatists.

AUCTION COMMISSION BIDDING: Can't make it to the sale you want to bid in? Afraid that you will overpay for something or (worse) underbid and lose the coin you want? Never fear—we am at your service for most major coin auctions (in our field) in the U.S. throughout the year. For a standard 5% fee we will inspect the lots you want to bid on, advise your bidding strategy, and execute your bids safely and anonymously. Not only will you benefit from our experience and presence, you will also eliminate us and our other clients from your competition!

AUTHENTICATION AND CERTIFICATION: Our verbal opinion is always free (as should be everyone's), so long as there is no out-of-pocket expense (i.e., please provide return postage if you send your coin to us). If you require a certificate or any other documentation (e.g., a court affidavit), however, the fee is $50 per one-page item (plus return postage).

APPRAISALS, CATALOGING, AND/OR CONSULTING: These services are available for a fee of $150 per hour or $1500 per day, plus expenses (if away from our office).

CONSERVATION (NEW!): We are proud to offer professional coin and artifact conservation, particularly for coins recovered from shipwrecks. Rates are hourly, as above ($150 per hour). Our method is proprietary and proven, but not all pieces are ideal for our service, so please understand that we cannot be responsible for the results, which may not always be reversible.
