Title

ScottyandKel.com - In Loving Memory of Scott Helvenston

Description

Scott Helvenston 38 was a former U.S. Navy SEAL and Navy SEAL instructor. He had gained some notoriety for training Demi Moore in GI Jane and he went on to appear on some reality tv shows and to have his own athletics company and workout videos. Scott was one of the four contractors who were ambushed and killed in Fallujah, Iraq March 31 2004. Scott was a remarkable person. He was a devoted father, he was caring, hard working and very giving. Scott had become the “Love” of Kelly’s life and they had planned to have a future together. I think you can see in all the pictures the love that sparkled in their eyes for one another. We saw it when we met them together, they shared something very special. We met Scott because my husband was looking for somebody to physically and mentally prepare our son who wanted to become a Navy SEAL. Scott became our son’s mentor. He admired Scott so much he had said it was as if he were like another father to him. Scott pushed our son and gave him the confidence to pursue his dreams. Several weeks before Scott left for Iraq, our son went rock climbing with Scott. It was during this climb that he had it on his heart to ask Scott about what he believed in. Scott affirmed in a long conversation with our son that his faith lied in Jesus Christ. I feel the Lord gave Scott the opportunity that day to confess with his mouth his faith in Christ. Matthew 10:32 “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven” On March 31st 2004 what we as believers can “Only Imagine” Scott has seen fulfilled. Scott is living in heaven with the Lord. His love for everyone lives on through our hearts and memories. His love for Kelly will never be forgotten. We have made this place to remember Scott and to share the love that Scott and Kelly had for one another with everyone. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Isaiah 57 1-2 “ The righteous man is taken away from evil…He enters into peace.”

God Bless you Scott may you rest in peace. We will see you again someday. Until then we can “Only Imagine” what our eyes will see but we know you will be there to share it with us…
